Matt Vance Named Trailblazer 40 Below by the Credit Union Times

Salal Credit Union’s Matt Vance has been named a 2012 Trailblazer 40 Below by the Credit Union Times according to the publication, for “his passion in pursuing and delivering on ideas that are relevant and add real value to consumers’ lives.”

Matt Vance earned the designation while serving as marketing and community manager at Industrial Credit Union and joins six other young credit union professionals who have so far been named. Read Vance’s full story. See a video clip of Vance discussing his designation.

Numerica Credit Union Names Three New Assistant Vice Presidents

Numerica - SanbornNumerica - SundermanNumerica Credit Union has hired two new assistant vice presidents and promoted a third.

Lisa Sunderman has been named assistant vice president of Numerica’s enterprise risk management, Lisa Sanborn has been named assistant vice president of Numerica’s internal audit, and Wendie Ellis, a Numerica employee for the past 11 years, was recently promoted to the position of assistant vice president of Numerica’s branch administration in Spokane, Wash.

Sunderman is a certified public accountant (CPA) and comes to Numerica after seven years of work with a bank, where she most recently held the title of audit and risk review director. She’s also involved in the local community

Sanborn, also a CPA, joins Numerica after 15 years in the financial industry; most recently at a bank, where she was vice president and controller. Prior to that, she spent 12 years with regional public accounting firm, Moss Adams LLP, as a senior manager and an external auditor. Like Sunderman, Sanborn is also a board member for the Inland Northwest Health Services Foundation.

Ellis has spent the last 11 years with Numerica and boasts 20 years of industry experience. Her most recent position was as branch manager of the Wandermere branch. She was named the credit union’s employee of the year in 2002.

Her new position will involve overseeing the Lyons, Wandermere, Airway Heights, Hayden and Coeur d’Alene branches.

Produced by the Salem Art Association, the Salem Art Fair & Festival is an annual fundraiser that highlights the work of more than 200 fine artists and craftspeople from across the U.S. and Canada and features a number fun exhibits and events.

Gesa Promotes Griffith to Marketing and Communications Manager

Gesa - GriffithGesa Credit Union has promoted Brian Griffith to the position of marketing and communications manager, overseeing the credit union’s marketing campaigns, corporate communications, and public relations, and managing a staff of six project coordinators.

Before joining Gesa in April 2011, Griffith was a regional community organizer and local media spokesperson for a national non-profit organization.

OnPoint Community Credit Union Donates to Friendly House

OnPoint Community Credit Union recently donated $1000 to Friendly House to celebrate the opening of OnPoint’s newest branch in Northwest Portland. Friendly House is a non-profit neighborhood center and social service agency located at just blocks away from the new branch at 1737 NW 26th Ave. Friendly House has been serving the Northwest Portland community since 1926.

“The work of Friendly House matches the credit union value of people helping people” said OnPoint President and CEO Rob Stuart. “We believe that a strong community benefits us all, and we’re proud to support Friendly House and the community.”

The NW 27th & Vaughn branch opened June 25, 2012.
