Harland Clarke Receives 2012 Gold Hermes Creative Award

Harland Clarke Corp. has received the 2012 Gold Hermes Creative Award for its marketing services work with PNC Business Credit, a division of PNC Bank. The winning entry was a business-to-business direct mail campaign that targeted prospective customers in private equity groups and middle market companies.

The campaign, entitled “Done Deals,” included a brochure and monthly postcards that positioned PNC Business Credit as a powerful force in the business lending industry. Each piece used eye-catching and visually powerful photographic images with details of 80 of PNC Business Credit’s recent multimillion dollar credit transactions. The monthly postcards added frequency of communication to the campaign and used clean, simple photography to highlight new deals.

“This campaign raised existing and potential customers’ awareness of our track record for closing complex, high-dollar deals, despite a less than stellar economy,” said Keith Henry, vice president and senior marketing manager for PNC Financial Services Group. “This campaign makes those deals visual—even visceral—and really lets businesses know that PNC Business Credit is in their corner.”

Harland Clarke has worked with PNC Bank for more than a decade, providing marketing services, including strategy, analytics and customer contact and program management solutions.

Presented by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP), the Hermes Award is an international award recognizing excellence in concept, writing and design of traditional and emerging media. Harland Clarke was selected for the award from more than 4,700 entries.
