UNANIMOUS: House Passes ATM Disclosure Bill
July 9, 2012
With a 371-0 vote the U.S. House of Representatives today passed legislation that would eliminate a burdensome regulation mandating that every ATM carry a physical placard notifying consumers of the potential imposition of fees for use of the ATM.
If enacted into law, H.R. 4367, known as the ATM Disclosure Bill, will protect credit unions from frivolous lawsuits while at the same time maintaining important consumer protections. Its Senate companion bill, S. 3204, was recently introduced by Senators Mike Johanns (R-NE) and Mark Warner (D-VA).
