International Credit Union Day Photo Wrap-Up

Credit unions throughout the region used International Credit Union Day to spread the cooperative message in unique ways. The Oct. 20 event gave credit unions a chance to celebrate their members, to share the credit union difference, and to gear up for the upcoming International Year of the Cooperative.

In Portland, Unitus Community Credit Union, Rivermark Community Credit Union, Oregonians Credit Union, Usagencies Credit Union, Northwest Resource Federal Credit Union, TwinStar Credit Union and Consolidated Federal Credit Union joined the Northwest Credit Union Association (NWCUA) at Pioneer Square to pass out cookies and information to the public. The event was even mentioned in this article in The Oregonian.

Spokane’s Boom Creative rejoiced in the fact that International Credit Union Day had finally arrived with this video:

Northwest Community Credit Union observed the day by teaming with Red Wagon Ice Cream to offer complimentary ice cream scoops in their lobby. They also shared this video of a number of their members saying, “I’m a Northwest Community Credit Union member!” in their native language:

Oregon Community Credit Union not only hosted an open house and handed out sweets, but they also took to the streets, heading to Occupy Eugene to trumpet their belief in the credit union philosophy of “people helping people.”
