National Labor Relations Board
The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) published a final rule that will require most private-sector employers to notify employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. The rule requires the notice to be posted where they are readily seen by employees, including all places where notices to employees concerning personal rules or policies are customarily posted. The notice requirement goes into effect on Nov. 14, 2011.
Federal Trade Commission
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) is increasing the fee for telemarketers to download the phone numbers on the Do Not Call Registry. While the $1 fee increase will not apply to federal credit unions as they are not regulated by the FTC, state chartered credit unions, credit union service organizations (CUSOs), and telemarketers hired by a federal credit union will have to pay the higher fee starting in October.
