Elected Officials Conducting Town Hall Meetings in Oregon

Members of Congress remain active in their districts as the August recess continues. Many have been featured at Chamber lunches, community events and networking breakfasts. The main topics of discussion continue to be jobs, the economy and, more recently, the process of cutting spending by a minimum of $1.2 trillion in order to avoid facing across-the-board cuts by Dec. 23, 2011. This has provided credit union leaders with an ideal opportunity to remind our elected officials of the value of credit unions in our communities and of the movement’s part in the economic recovery.

Additional in-person opportunities are still available to touch base with your congressman or senator. The following town halls have been scheduled and are open to the public.
