Lacamas Community Credit Union Named 2011 Business of the Year by Camas-Washougal Chamber

Lacamas Community Credit Union (LCCU) announced that it has been named the 2011 Business of the Year by the Camas-Washougal Chamber of Commerce.

President/CEO Kathleen Romane accepted the honor at the annual Chamber Awards Dinner on June 7.

“For Lacamas Community Credit Union to be recognized as the 2011 Business of the Year during our 75th year in service to our membership is a great honor for the entire credit union,” said Romane. “We are all proud to be members of the Camas-Washougal business community.”

The credit union was honored for giving back to the community through its sponsorship of family events, such as the Riverside Concert Series at the Port of Camas-Washougal and the Camas Days Parade. It also contributes funds and volunteer hours to local schools and charitable organizations, and distributes food dinner baskets to members in need during the holidays. Each year, the credit union awards three $1,500 scholarships to local high school seniors.

“While we are honored to receive the Business of the Year award, we are not resting on our laurels,” said Romane. “We look forward to serving members and the business community for many years to come!”
