The inaugural 2011 Annual Convention will kick off with a networking event, which will bring together credit union peers from Oregon and Washington.
The fast-paced “Unite with your Neighbor” networking session will be led by Tina K. Hall, President & Chief Catalyst of Kirsi Consultancy, and will promote best practices and resource sharing among the group.
As this is the first time credit unions from both sides of the Columbia River will be attending the same convention; the Association felt it was important for members to form bonds with their neighbors to unite, build, and flourish.
“This year’s Convention will be a fine time for all the leaders of the Northwest credit union movement to come together to celebrate their mutual success in the region,” notes Association CEO John Annaloro. “It is an important gathering in the history of this Association, as we build a better, stronger future.”
Hall is an award-winning certified Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) who was named as one of 40 Top Young Trainers nationwide by Training Magazine. She previously served as VP of Organizational Development at a $400 million credit union in Seattle, Wash. During her tenure, the credit union won over 30 “best places to work” awards and was listed as one of the top 100 training organizations in the nation for four consecutive years.
The session is designed to be a fun and interactive way to meet, hear, and learn from peers in Oregon and Washington. Hot topics and industry-specific challenges will be discussed. This session will emphasize activity-based dialog, rather a lecture-based format, with the goal of promoting connections early in the conference and emphasize long-term collaboration beyond the conference.
The Convention runs from September 20 – 22 at Hotel Murano Convention Center in Tacoma, Wash. The first Annual Business Meeting will be held immediately following the event.
