NW Chapter to Discuss Economic Trends at February 23rd Meeting

Oregon’s Northwest Chapter of Credit Unions is holding its first meeting of 2011, focusing on how current economic trends will affect credit union operations, and you are invited. First Tech Credit Union Vice President & CFO Hank Sigmond will keynote the event.
Slated to be held at McMenamins Kennedy School on Wednesday, Feb. 23, the 6 p.m. this chapter event includes networking and a pasta bar. The cost is $19 for credit union attendees; $25 for partners and vendors. The Deadline to register is February 9. Hank Sigmond has been Vice President and Chief Financial Officer at First Tech Credit Union since 2006. Prior to that time, he served as First Tech’s Controller since 1993. Sigmund is a passionate credit union leader with extensive experience in operational asset liability management and credit administration. In addition, he has led the EFT functions where he was responsible for overseeing all back office operations for credit card, debit card, ACH, share draft, wire transfers, and the ATM fleet.
In his roles at First Tech, he has always built strong relationships and worked collaboratively with outside auditors, regulatory examiners, vendors, and other credit union leaders. Sigmund is involved with the Callahan & Associates Trust for Credit Unions, serves as board member of Procura LLC, and is a member of the Credit Union Housing Roundtable. Sigmund volunteers with the Oregon Food Bank and is a reading coach for Start Making a Reader Today (SMART). He has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from University of California at Davis, and his MBA from Portland State University.
