Yesterday, Congressman Rick Larsen (D-WA) agreed to co-sponsor H.R. 1081, the Consumers Payment System Protection Act, which would delay implementation of the proposed interchange rule for one year and study the impact on consumers and small issues.  Thank you to credit union advocates from the 2nd Congressional District for your emails to Congressman Larsen—they do make a difference!  We will let you know when the Grassroots Action Center is updated with his co-sponsorship and ask that you send him a pre-written thank you letter for his leadership on this issue.

Please continue your emails to the rest of the Washington and Oregon delegations encouraging their support of this bill. Again, emails can be sent through the Grassroots Action Center.  We hope to leverage Congressman Larsen’s support with other members.   Keep up the good work—grassroots advocacy is powerful!
