In the absence of challengers for the 2010 elections, four directors retained their seats on the Washington Credit Union League (WCUL) Board after that body accepted the slate of candidates presented by the Nominating Committee.
Washington member credit unions are divided into seven geographic districts in the state, each represented by a board director. The League also has two At-Large directors representing the interests of all member credit unions in Washington State. As no opposition candidates were put forward to challenge the incumbents by the May 3 deadline, all directors have been elected by acclamation to new three-year terms, which will begin following the League’s Convention and Annual Business Meeting being held September 14 in Seatac, Washington.
The slate was made up of Terry Belcoe, Director for District 1 and CEO of Northcoast Credit Union; Tom Graves, Director for District 3 and CEO of Prevail Credit Union; and Mina Worthington, Director for District 7 and CEO of Yakima Valley Credit Union.
Secretary John Bechtholt, CEO of TAPCO Credit Union, representing District 5, had previously decided to step down in September of this year. However, with no alternative candidates putting themselves forward, the WCUL Board and members of the Nominating Committee asked that he stay on for one more term. He accepted their invitation. As he was serving as Chair of the Nominating Committee, Bechtholt recused himself from the committee thereby making himself eligible to run for another term. His nomination was endorsed and then accepted by the WCUL Board, along with the other candidates, on Thursday, May 20, 2010.
The nine-member WCUL Board, which oversees the activities of the League, is completed by Chairman Debie Keesee, CEO of Spokane Media Federal Credit Union; Vice Chair Marshall Ellison, CEO of Twinstar Credit Union; Treasurer Elliot Gregg, CEO of Kitsap Credit Union; Jack Fallis, CEO of Global Credit Union; and Larry Hoff, CEO of Fibre Federal Credit Union.
