Yakima Valley CU and Local JA Partner Up for Financial Ed
The Yakima Herald Republic reported that Yakima Valley Credit Union will be part of a new 10,500-foot financial literacy learning laboratory set to open in the spring of 2011. Known as JA World, the facility will be the second one on the state and the first east of the Cascade Mountains. It will feature both a JA Finance Park and JA BizTown.

Our Community CU Honored
The Montesano Vidette reported that Our Community Credit Union was voted Business of the Quarter by the Elma Chamber of Commerce.

Branch Manager Honored
The Columbia Basin Herald reported that Horizon Credit Union branch manager (Moses Lake) Juanita Richards received the Award of Excellence from Moses Lake High School for its support and partnership.

Salal CEO Spotted on The Scene
Salal Credit Union President & CEO John Iglesias was recently spotted by a Puget Sound Business Journal and featured in a weekly events photo roundup. Iglesias was cutting the ribbon during the re-opening ceremony of the credit union’s Northgate branch.

TAPCO Hires One
The Tacoma Daily Index reported that TAPCO credit Union hired Susan Mablo as vice president and chief credit officer. She has 21 years of experience.

Numerica Expands Home Loan Team in Eastern Washington
Numerica Credit Union recently added six new home loan professionals to its home loan department to further expand their services in Spokane and the Tri-Cities. Robert Helgesen was hired as Assistant Vice President of the Home Loan Center. He brings 19 years of home lending experience.

Adrian Smasne and Lorenzo Araujo were hired as a Tri-Cities Home Loan Officers. Smasne has over 12 years of experience in mortgage lending experience and Araujo has worked in mortgage lending for 14 years.
 
Bill Bolton, Grant Kuwada and Rudy Duenas were hired as a Spokane Home Loan Officers. Bolton has 11 years of experience in the banking industry. Kuwada has eight years of experience in the banking industry, and Duenas has 17 years of experience in the banking industry.

Columbia Credit Union Hires SVP/Chief Lending Officer
Columbia Credit Union hired of Bill Fulk as its new SVP/Chief Lending Officer. Fulk will be responsible for directing all of Columbia’s mortgage, direct, indirect, and member business lending activities. Fulk’s past experience spans a 23-year career in the financial industry in a variety of strategic and operational leadership roles.

Global Employee Honored
Sharon Carter, Global Credit Union Darby Branch Manager was named the Community Choice Volunteer of the Year 2010 at the very ceremony in which she presented four award recipients with $50 US Savings Bonds donated by Global Credit Union. 

Global Gets Certified Money Management Volunteer
Global Credit Union Marketing Manager Abby Koder has completed Money Management Certified Training. To further efforts to provide financial education to members and the community, Koder is now a Certified Money Management Volunteer (CMMV) with Money Management International, the nation’s largest non-profit credit counseling agency. Koder has been employed at Global Credit Union for 14 years.
