Fisher Replacing Robertson at OCCU
The Shelton-Mason County Journal reported that Our Community Credit Union President & CEO Joe Robertson will retire at year’s end. Chief Operations Officer Bert Fisher was promoted to CEO position July 1 and will transition to replace Robertson as president of the Shelton-based credit union by the end of the year, according to the report. Robertson has been with the credit union since 1975. He has been CEO since 1985.
Lower Valley CU Breaks Ground on Grandview Branch
The Sunnyside Daily News and the Grandville Herald reported that Lower Valley Credit Union employees and board of directors broke ground on a new Grandview branch recently. The branch will be the third for the credit union, which was founded in the basement of a Sunnyside Church in 1952.
TwinStar Hosts Free Lunch
The East County Journal reported that TwinStar Credit Union hosted a free hotdog lunch for anyone who wanted one. In addition to the picnic standards of chips, cookies and soda, there was music, hoola hooping and Frisbee throwing.
Numerica Hires Three
The Spokane Journal of Business reported that Bill Bolton, Grant Kuwada and Randy Duenas joined Numerica Credit Union as home loan officers. All three have previous bank experience.
DFI Selects Beatty as Director of Securities
The Washington State Department of Financial Institutions (DFI) announced that Bill Beatty is the agency’s new Securities Administrator, replacing Mike Stevenson who retired earlier this year. Beatty has been with the Securities Division since 1986, and is a graduate of the University of Puget Sound and the Seattle University School of Law. He joined DFI in 1986 as a Staff Attorney. He has since served as a Financial Legal Examiner 5, Associate Legal Counsel, General Counsel and Program Manager.
Retired Credit Union CEO Dies
Retired Alaska Airlines/Horizon Air Employees Federal Credit Union President & CEO Marta Conat died July 1, 2010. Marta served the credit union for over 22 years, retiring in 2007. The family asks that any remembrances be sent to Hospice.
