Robertson to retire; Fisher new CEO at Our Community
Joe Robertson, President/CEO of Our Community Credit Union for the past 25 years, will retire on December 31 of this year. Bert Fisher, currently Chief Operations Officer (COO), has been appointed by the board of directors as his replacement and will be promoted to CEO on July 1, 2010 as he begins the transition to replace Robertson as President

Robertson’s long and illustrious career with the credit union began in 1975 when he was hired on as a Collection Officer and then later promoted to Operations Manager.  He was appointed CEO in 1985 to replace Ken Fredson and has been an active part of the credit union industry particularly in the Washington Credit Union League and as an advocate for credit unions on both Capitol Hill and in the community.  Today, under Robertson’s expert leadership and guidance, the credit union has grown from $31 million to more than $200 million and 22,000 members.

Bert Fisher has been the Chief Operations Officer of the credit union since 2005 when he was hired as part of the succession plan to take over following Robertson’s retirement.  As COO, Fisher oversaw Branch Operations, Call Center, Lending and Collections, Human Resources, Staff Development and the Compliance Department and has immersed himself with all phases of the credit union’s operations.
