Peninsula Celebrate 75th Year of Service
The Peninsula Daily News reported that Peninsula Credit Union recently celebrated its 75th anniversary with a member appreciation day that had guests snacking on fresh, locally baked pastries and cupcakes while sipping free coffee and Italian soda.

Harborstone Earns Air Force’s CU of the Year
Harborstone Credit Union was named by the U.S. Air Force its Credit Union of the Year for its commitment to military personnel and their families on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, according to the South Sound Business Examiner. 

STCU Among Nation’s Highest Performing Credit Unions
Raddon Financial Group has named STCU of the nation’s highest performing credit unions for the second consecutive year, according to the Spokesman Review. The credit union ranked in the 100th percentile.

WECU to Open New Branch
WECU will soon open a new branch in a former dive shop in downtown Bellingham, according to the Bellingham Business Journal. The addition will satisfy some of the credit unions space needs after adding 150 employees to its rolls in the past decade.

Credit Unions Help Homeowners Save Energy
The Olympian reported that Generations Credit Union and O Bee Credit Union are partnering with a Thurston Energy in a county-wide program that helps homeowners find ways to save money on their energy bills. The two credit unions will offer green home improvement loans to members who participate in the Thurston energy program.

STCU Sponsors PACE
The Spokane Valley News Herald reported that STCU has signed on as a sponsor of P.A.C.E. (Partners Advancing Character Education), a program that promotes 12 character traits, one for each month of the year.  While it is intended for school districts, STCU will be promoting it to its employees as well.

Paper Reports on Credit Union’s “Good Work” Promotion
The Peninsula Gateway followed Kitsap Credit Union’s Community Ambassador Team to see how it encourages unsuspecting workers to “Keep Up the Good Work.” According to the 31 column-inch piece, which includes a photo, the Ambassador Team spreads good cheer with random acts of kindness. From free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream to hot coffee and pastries, the team shows up, unannounced in most cases, and rewards people for their hard work.

HAPO Promotes Mitchell to VP of Lending
HAPO Community Credit Union recently promoted Scott Mitchell to vice president of lending and chief lending officer, according to the Tri-City Herald. Mitchell has been with the credit union for five years and was previously its vice president of consumer lending.

Columbia CU Hires Holladay as Home Loan Officer
Columbia Credit Union announced the hiring of Sue Holladay as home loan officer. With 27 years experience, Holladay most recently worked as a residential loan officer for a local mortgage company.

Global Hires Facilities Manager
The Spokesman Review reported that Global Credit Union recently hired Aaron Hayes as its facilities manager for its Logistics Department. Hayes has 11 years of experience
